Francis J. Farrelly Appointed Co-Chair of Elder Law Committee 07-21-2008 Attorney Francis (‘Bud’) J. Farrelly of the law firm Clayman, Tapper & Baram, LLC, has been appointed Co-Chair to the Elder Law Committee of the Hartford County Bar Association for the 2008-2009 term of office. Attorney Farrelly concentrates his practice in the area of estate planning and administration, probate, and elder law including Title XIX - Medicaid planning. He has more than 40 years experience in drafting wills, trusts, living wills, power of attorney and other documents primarily dealing with estate planning. He regularly represents clients in the Connecticut probate courts and negotiates with the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Revenue Services on their behalf. The Elder Law Committee of the Hartford County Bar Association provides Continuing Legal Education programs to its members, who are primarily attorneys in the Greater Hartford area. Born and raised in Hartford, he received his B.S. Degree from Boston College in 1963 and his J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut, School of Law in 1966. He is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association's Sections on Estates and Probate and Elder Law. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Elder Law Section and is a noted lecturer on issues concerning the elderly. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court as well as the U.S. Tax Court.
