Michael Hafkin
Michael Hafkin, Senior Associate at Clayman, Tapper & Baram, LLC, practices in the areas of civil litigation and immigration and nationality law.

Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude at the University of Pennsylvania in 2000 where he majored in Economics and minored in Mathematics and French. In 2003, Michael graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut.

While at UConn Law, Michael was a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship and was selected to the First Year Honors Program. He was also elected to the Connecticut Moot Court Board, an organization dedicated to the development of appellate brief writing and oral advocacy skills. Michael was the winner of the Best Brief Award in the 2001 William H. Hastie Memorial Moot Court Competition.

Michael is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Sections on Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Law and Labor and Employment Law. He is also a member of the American Association of Immigration Lawyers, serving on the Young Lawyers Committee of the Connecticut Chapter.

Michael is a Board member of the Jewish Community Relations Council and serves on its Government Affairs Taskforce. He also served as a member of the Farmington Democratic Town Committee. He is fluent in Russian and speaks French.

He has been selected for inclusion in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of Immigration Law.
