Jason Yale Gans, a member of Baram, Tapper & Gans, LLC, has dedicated his practice to Immigration and Nationality Law for more than thirty-five years. He served as the former Chief Legal Officer, former Chief of the Nationality Section, and former General Attorney for the United States Department of Justice, The Legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) at Hartford, Connecticut from 1973 to 1985.
Jason represents both public and private companies in immigration matters, providing the legal counsel necessary for them to secure highly specialized personnel required for their businesses as well as advising them in cases of employer sanctions. His representation of individuals includes family reunification, political asylum, deportation defense, naturalization and citizenship matters.
A frequent lecturer in the area of employment based immigration law, Jason's lectures and seminars provide important information to area businesses on this rapidly changing and complex area of immigration law.
He received his B. A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1965 and his L.L.B. degree from Boston College Law School in 1968. He is admitted to the Bar in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. He has been selected by his peers to be included in the 2013 edition of Woodward/White Inc's The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Immigration Law. And has been listed in Best Lawyers since 1993 as being among the top lawyers in America.He has also been included in the Connecticut Super Lawyers for 2011 and 2012.
Among his business clients are two major commercial corporations: Photronics, Inc. and Belimo USA Inc.
