Francis J. Farrelly, a member of Clayman, Tapper & Baram, LLC, has been practicing law in the Greater Hartford area since 1966. Born and raised in Hartford, he received his B.S. Degree from Boston College in 1963 and his J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1966.
"Bud" has built a strong general practice, in the areas of estate planning and administration, probate, residential real estate and elder law including Title XIX - Medicaid planning. He has more than 40 years experience in drafting wills, trusts, living wills, powers of attorney and other documents primarily dealing with estate planning. He regularly represents clients in the Connecticut probate courts and negotiates with the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Revenue Services on their behalf.
Bud is Co-Chairman of the Hartford County Bar Association's Elder Law Committee and a member of the Connecticut Bar Association's Sections on Estates and Probate and Elder Law. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Elder Law Section and is a noted lecturer on issues concerning the elderly. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court as well as the U.S. Tax Court.
Bud is actively involved in his community, formerly serving as Chairman of the Board of Managers of the YMCA where he was honored as "Leader of the Year." He is Chairman of the Fair Rent Commission for the Town of Wethersfield and was an instructor in the Adult Education Program for the Wethersfield Board of Education for 20 years.
Bud was named to Greater Hartford’s Top Attorneys – 2011 – as published in Hartford Magazine (April, 2011).
